Fear of the Lord

For sometime now I've been convicted of my need to Fear the Lord..... not to be frightened of him but to come to him in reverence and fear - not casually - its been a bit of a grapple for me but thank God He is patiently teaching me and revealing to me that on occasion I have been more fearing of man than of my Lord and Master, Saviour and Friend. I can't get over how many times the Bible says that we are to Fear the Lord.... below are just some references from the Psalms alone - these are all wonderful benefits and blessings to all who do earnestly Fear him... but I am absolutely convicted of just how can I come into his presence without reverential fear...... total devotion..... obedience...... surrender..... and love - He is Almighty, All Powerful, All Knowing, All Seeing, All Present - the way has been made clear for me to boldly approach his throne of Grace by Jesus - thank you Jesus - I have much to learn and am feeling very much 'gobsmacked'.... so I'll shut up and let His Word speak!

Psalm 25 v 14: The LORD confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.
Psalm 33 v 18: But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love...
Psalm 34 v 7: The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
and
Psalm 111 v 10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
